1 Samuel - Lesson 9, "Trusting God's Timing"
One of the most difficult things as a Christian can be waiting on God’s timing. God often takes too long, it seems, to answer or direct. If we had things our way, God would answer immediately! However, God’s timing is always perfect. From our message today, we will learn from David’s example. He is in line to be the next King of Israel, and things seem to be falling into place. That is, until King Saul becomes jealous of David’s fame. Saul decides that he is going to make it his life’s mission to kill David off. David goes from sitting in the palace to sleeping in the caves. During his running, David finds himself in two different situations where he can take matters into his own hands. Instead, he waits on God, trusting that God would do exactly what he said. What a great reminder and example to us! We don’t have to take matters into our own hands. God is faithful and will do exactly what He says He will.
