Make the Most of our Time

TThe Bible makes it clear that God is both the Creator and Owner of everything in his creation. This is described beautifully in Psalm 19:1-2 (NLT), “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.” In what I think is kind of an odd twist, almost immediately after He created the earth, God gave mankind authority over it. Human beings were given the responsibility to steward (to care for ) the earth on God’s behalf. 

As Christians who take the Bible seriously, this means we need to take seriously God’s command that we steward the resources he has entrusted us, and we’re to do it in a way that brings glory to Him. We see this in Isaiah 43:7 (NLT), “Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.’” In this new series, we look at three different types of gifts that God has given us: Time, Talent, and Treasures, and how we can steward them for His glory.

Today, we will focus on time by answering the question: God what do you want me to do with the time you have given me? Through this message we’ll discover an important truth: The time you have here on earth is God’s gift to you. Stewarding it well is your gift to Him!
