Advent 2024: Lesson 4 "The Plan"

When God sent His son to earth in the form of a baby over 2,000 years ago it was a part of His plan for our redemption! Humankind has a sin problem and Jesus is the solution. Our sin separates us from God, but Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection are why we can be restored in our relationship with the one true God. But God didn’t stop there. As we navigate life on this side of Heaven we are reminded that Jesus came down from heaven and is with us (Immanuel). We learn in Isaiah that He is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. These aren’t just names. They are descriptions of how Jesus continues to work in our lives as Christians and this is part of God’s plan for us. As we celebrate Jesus’ birth, it’s important for us to recognize how His birth fits into part of God’s great plan of redemption for us. Merry Christmas!
