The King Has Come

Christians believe that Jesus is the long-awaited savior of the world. A king, a prophet, a priest who has come to bring peace and justice to the world, stillness to our souls, and healing to our families. As good as that all sounds, we resist Jesus' kingship because we'd rather rule our own lives. This desire for self-autonomy makes us enemies of God and outside of his care. Yet, Jesus calls us to rejoin his kingdom, to become his friends, and to rule with him forever if only we accept his grace. May we all enjoy more of his grace this morning.
