Advent 2025: "For God So Loved the World"

Dec 21, 2025    Brock Peters

At the center of Advent is not our effort to reach God, but God’s gracious decision to come to us in love. Before we ever searched for Him, before we ever believed or obeyed, God loved us first—and He proved it by giving us His Son. Christmas reminds us that love is not an abstract idea or a warm feeling; it is a holy, costly gift. In Jesus, God stepped into our darkness, our brokenness, and our need, not to condemn us, but to rescue us. The manger points us to the cross, and together they declare the same truth: God’s love is generous, sacrificial, and for the whole world.

Yet this love does not stop at saving us—it invites us to respond and to be changed. Christ calls us out of darkness and into His light, not to expose us in shame, but to heal and transform us by grace. As we receive His love, we are called to live openly, honestly, and differently, reflecting His light to a world still searching for hope. This Advent, may we not only celebrate that God loved and gave, but may we also open the door, walk in the light, and let the love of Christ shine through us—for His glory and for the life of the world.

In His Service,

Pastor Brock
