I have called Charlotte my home for most of my life. Born and raised there alongside my two
brothers and half-sister. Following high school I attended Olivet college graduating with a
Bachelors’ degree in Criminal Justice. Also during this time I had the privilege to serve as a
camp counselor at Camp Barakel in Fairview Mi. This is where I saw my faith grow the most.
Employment following graduation left me desiring to do something more adventuresome. I took
my oath and joined the Air Force National Guard where I served for 3 years.
My sophomore year at Olivet found me focusing on more than my education. I knew after
serving as a camp counselor that summer that I needed to take my faith more seriously. That is
when I started coming to City on a Hill consistently and started to take part in an accountability
group. One day while sitting in a church service at CHCC I decided I was not living the same life
I was telling people I wanted to live. I made a decision to live life for Christ and not for myself.
After I had my first daughter I wanted to stay home full time to raise her. The church reached
out to me about an opportunity to work in the children’s ministry. The Lord has blessed me by
providing the opportunity to care for my children as well as be a part of a community through the
church that is supportive and encouraging. I currently live in Charlotte with my husband and our
two beautiful daughters.
