Christy Dryer
Administrative Assistant
I was born and raised in North Central Ohio. I am the oldest child in a blended family and took my role as the oldest very seriously. I spent my days bouncing back and forth between parents and moved around frequently - attending 5 different elementary schools in 4 years. The highlight of my childhood was spending time with my grandparents who were a huge part of my life and hanging out with cousins. I grew up casually attending church, going when it was convenient, but never really taking faith seriously. The summer before my Senior year in high school I attended an Icthus Music Festival with our church youth group and heard the Gospel message in a whole new way. It was there that I committed my life to Christ.
I took the long route through college, attending 4 different colleges over a 7 year period, eventually getting a degree in Early Childhood Education from Wright State University. Along the way I met my husband, Mark, who I have been married to for over 30 years. I dabbled in substitute teaching until we had our first child in 1999. We have four children and one granddaughter.
Our family has been attending City on a Hill for about 5 years. I first came on staff as Welcome Team ministry leader - a position that was a bit out of my comfort zone, but God has been working on me and shaping me. Shortly after settling into that position, I was asked to consider the administrative assistant position. After much prayer and discussion, I took that role and have been serving in that capacity since July 2021. I enjoy serving on the welcome team and meeting new people and most recently joining the worship team where I get to do one of my favorite things with some of my favorite people while praising God.
One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.” I love that God is in control and I can trust him to lead me.
