Alex Coy

Youth Director

I was raised in Charlotte, Michigan, where I attended a local church throughout most of my childhood. At a young age (around 6–8 years old), I remember feeling deeply connected to Jesus and accepting Him as my Lord and Savior. From then on, I desired a deeper understanding of who He is. However, my exposure to and engagement with Scripture were limited—both at home and in church—and at the time, being a Christian mostly meant attending church on Sundays.

As a young adult, I struggled with my faith for several years. While I never stopped believing in Jesus, I often ignored God as I wrestled with what it truly means to be saved by grace. Guilt and shame led me to believe I would never measure up or be worthy of a relationship with Him. In 2015, my wife, Morgan, and I began attending a Bible-teaching church in Lansing, Michigan, during a challenging season in our relationship. There, we consistently heard the gospel, which helped us grow in our faith. On Easter 2016, we were both baptized.

Later that year, we welcomed our first son, and we now have four young boys. I believe God has called me to raise God-fearing men—a responsibility I am grateful to embrace. I have also felt called to youth ministry for many years. I am passionate about helping young people grow in their faith and build a lasting relationship with Jesus, and I pray that God uses my life to help guide them in that as they navigate today’s challenges.
